Idea #2, single groove tool mount block
Thanks to Walt
Tool holder mock up done in scrap MDF.
I will be using some nice hard red oak for the real #1
Much better design than idea #1.
The slots can be shorter, you can get to the cap screws easier, which are on either side of the tool.
I didn't spend much time on getting the slot the right width for the caps screws, this is just a mock up so I can get an idea of the process.
The real caps screws will probably be 1/4" x 20 with T-Nuts on the back side to bolt into and large over sized Fender washers.
Tool holder can slide up and down
CNC solder sucker?
Say that fast 3 times.

Tool Cradle
I will re-inforce the cradle by running a support up the center to tie the two cradle pieces together.
This will make the whole assembly very strong when glued and screwed or dowled.
Then it will also be possible to screw the tool cradle assembly down in the center, under the tool.
I need figure out some way to clamp the tool to the cradle.

Idea #1, double groove
Tool holder mock up done in scrap pile junk wood.
I will be using some nice hard red oak for test machine #1
I didn't spend much time on getting the slot the right width for the caps screws, this is just a mock up so I can get an idea of the process.
