| I have nine of these original Hoffman 50 watt head chassis. I am keeping one for myself for a future build, but the rest are up for grabs. They are made from very good aircraft aluminum and they are very stiff. The chassis comes with all the aluminum pieces and screws. I found several of the chrome fan grilles and so I will throw in a fan grille on the deal. The fan I used was a NMB model 3110PS-12W-B30. It was a 115vac fan. I don't have any of the fans so you will have to hunt up a fan that has a 2 13/16" square hole pattern. I stock all the other parts shown in the pictures except for the 1 inch round screen hole plugs and faceplates. You don't have to cover the two intake holes with a screen, you can leave them open. |

The original chassis were powdercoated
with a textured black powdercoat. Later on I had the
chassis powdercoated with some cool colors like purple,
speckled green and hammertone gray. The chassis were
assembled into two pieces, the lid assembly and bottom
chassis assembly and then taken to the powdercoater.
You could not powdercoat each separate piece and then
assemble all the pieces. Powdercoating is thick, the
pieces would not fit together if you tried to do it
one piece at a time.
Powdercoaters take the parts and bead blast them first to clean all the metal parts and to make sure they get a good finish product. You can probably hunt up a powdercoater in a town near you. Just make sure you look at their work first to make sure they are good. They only get one chance to do it right. Powercoating will not come off like paint. |

| You could have a smoked Plexiglas face plate made if you wanted to copy the look of my old amps. You could also have a solid faceplate made. You will have to figure out how to get a faceplate made, I don't have any faceplates left but I do have a layout diagram of the original faceplates. See the links below. The original faceplates were engraved by a sign company that also made badges and name tags. |
