| Stereo Power amp project | |
|
This project is an all tube, stereo, power
amp, rack unit. I built it so that I can feed a Stereo
tube pre amp signal into a stereo T.C Electronics
G-major multi effects unit and then into a Stereo
power amp. The G-major effects unit has stereo inputs
and outputs. The stereo outputs let you do ping pong
delays and other true stereo effects such as chorus. I happened to have a few pieces of a rack unit laying around and so I pieced together what I had and used some poplar to make the wooden parts. I raised up the floor of the 3 space rack unit 1.25 inches to make space for the point to point wiring. This design is two 18 Watt Marshall power amps in one chassis. They share a common power transformer that is made for 4 x EL84's in class A operation. There are two 18 Watt output transformers and one Fender 125C1A choke. The knobs on the front are input level for each channel. The back panel has two input jacks, two impedance selector switches and two speaker jacks. |
