Marwi SSC P7 LED light conversion info |
This page shows an older hand made LED capsule
that I made on my lathe.
I now stock a Marwi heat sink that is much
nicer.

This is what the aluminum LED capsule looks like.
The SSC P7 LED sits down inside a recess and is screwed down to
the capsule.
The LED capsule is bored out hollow.
The LED contact area behind the LED is about .1" or 2.54mm thick
The outer diameter of the LED capsule is in contact with the Marwi
body.
The heat is transferred from the LED capsule, out to the body and
is dissipated by the Marwi aluminum light body.

This shot shows the 3 assemblies that are inside a Marwi body
The Reflector, the LED capsule and the electronics stack.
Note the smaller diameter circuit boards on the left side of the
electronics stack.
This section of the stack fits down inside the LED capsule.

This shot shows how the whole stack fits together. |
Part of the electronics stack sits down inside the LED capsule.
The part inside the capsule is about the same diameter as the
inside of the capsule.
This keeps the stack from shifting around and centers the stack
inside the capsule.
The circuit board under the switch is wider than the boards inside
the capsule.
This board is the same diameter as the rear rim of the LED capsule
and sits flush against the back rim of the LED capsule.
When you press the switch, the whole electronics stack stays
centered and firm against the capsule.
The SSC P7 LED lens fits down into the hole on the reflector

This shot shows how the Marwi body mates up with the rear
switch/mount section.
The hole at the bottom of the plastic section is where you bolt on
the Marwi helmet and handle bars mounts.

Here's a shot of the back of the reflector as it sits inside the
Marwi body. |
The LED capsule fits snug inside the body and sits on top of the
reflector.
Note how the LED capsule is in contact with the Marwi body.
This lets it transfer the heat from the LED to the body |

Part of the electronics stack sits down inside the LED capsule.
The switch board keeps the electronics stack from being able to be
pushed down into the capsule. |
The rear section of the light goes on the body and is held in
place by a screw. |

Here you can see down inside the rear section of the Marwi light.
Note that I have machined the hole larger so that I can use a
rubber tail cap.
The Marwi lights come with a SPST Judco switch that uses a much
small hole. |
Here's a shot of the electronics stack sitting down inside the
rear section. |
