Where to stash your battery packs for
handlebar mounted lights is sometimes an
issue. Helmet mounted lights are not so much of a problem. You can usually stash the battery in your Camel back pack or stick it in your jersey pocket. Here's a couple ways that I stash my handlebar battery packs. I have also seen seat post mounted battery packs on some commercial lights. |

This green pouch came with a Goo-Gel flask
that I purchased many years ago. It is the perfect size for a 4 x 18650 battery pack. It has heavy duty Velcro straps that wrap around the top tube and keep it from moving around. It also has smaller Velcro straps at both ends where you slide in the battery pack. I don't know where to get these pouches but they sure are nice. This would be a great item for a company to make and sell It only needs to be open at one end to slide in a battery pack. |

This shot shows a 4 x 18650 battery pack
inside a chopped up water bottle. The white bottle is a Hammer gel bottle. It is the perfect size to fit inside the blue water bottle. I made a foam surround piece that fits inside the water bottle and keeps the battery pack from banging around. The bottom of the water bottle has a small round foam piece that the battery pack sits on. I also have a foam cap that goes on top of the battery pack and keeps the mud from coming inside the opening and getting on the battery pack. On the outside of the blue water bottle you can see a Velcro band that is stuck to the bottle. This lets me wrap another piece of Velcro around the bottle cage to make sure the blue bottle does not fly out of the water bottle cage. |
