| Here's a screen shot of my Garmin Map76Cs color screen. It's not really bright yellow but the Garmin screen capture program captures it that way. It's more of a light beige color. The Garmin screen capture program is called X-image and you can download it at the Garmin web site. | Here's a shot of the night screen with custom maps displayed. |

| Here's a Geocache waypoint called Treasure Tree | If you put the cursor right on top of the waypoint, the waypoint changes appearance. If you hit the enter or Mark button you will get information about that waypoint. |

| Here's the information about the treasure tree Geocache waypoint. If you hit enter while Go To is highlighted, the GPS will navigate you to the waypoint from your current position. | Here's a shot of the satellite screen. The outer circle is the horizon. The inner circle is 45 degrees up from the horizon. You can see which satellites you are communicating with and their signal strength. |
| Custom maps | |
| I make my own custom maps for my Garmin Map76CS. I use free
downloadable USGS data to make several types of maps. Water, lakes, streams, etc are all on one map. Roads are on another map and Topo
data is on another map. I also use tracks from Trails Illustrated maps to show Mountain bike and Hiking trails in the
Pisgah National forest, which is right out my back door. I can overlay any one of these four maps on top of the other. Just view one map or all 4 at the same time. You just go into the GPS map setup screen and turn on which ever maps you want to view. |

| The dotted lines in this screen are trails. | Here I have turned on the water map and added it to the trails map. |

| Now the roads map is added to the trails and water map. | The Topo map has been added to the trails, water and roads map. I don't use the Topo map much, it clutters up the screen and really slows down the GPS screen display. If I need the Topo, I can just turn it on and then back off. |
