The first 30 watt Hoffman heads I made. |

| These are the original 30 watt heads that I started making in 1994. They were a 3 space rack chassis, inside of a rectangular wooden box, covered with tolex or tweed. They had a smoked plexi-glass front panel like the 50 watt heads. The tubes could be seen glowing through the plexi-glass when the amps were on. Later models had solid black front panels with rear engraved control functions. The circuit was very close to the old plexi circuit, like the 50 watt heads, except they were run at about 350 plate volts to lower the wattage. There were probably less than 25 of these made. See the layout diagram for these boards. The boards below are later models, on the first models the heaters were run on DC. These later boards pictured below ran 6.3 volts ac heaters. | |
