This is a piece of history here. This is the original 1957 Les Paul gold top (Goldie) that Dickie Betts used on live at the Filmore and tons of other classic Allman Brothers records. Dickie got it back from the hall of fame and decided to refinish it because it was in such bad condition. The neck has been broken three times and all three breaks were repaired so well it is hard to see them. There were extra holes here and there so Dickie filled them in and made them look like little knot holes. He refinished it in some sort of red alcohol dye and clear coat finish. The original pickups and pots were long gone, it had Seymour Duncans in it when he brought it in. He had me install new Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups, signed by Seth, new pots, except for the bourns sealed pot that he likes and to rewire the whole thing. I never got to hear it, he took it home, set it up with strings and flew off to New York city to the Beacon Theatre gig.
