Hello Everyone!

My friends call me J.D. and by day I run a travel agency that specializes in cruises. However my passion is building electric guitars and now guitar amplifiers. I'm the better part of 62 years old and when I was in high school (actually voc-tech school) I studied electronics (vacuum tube theory not solid state). I guess everything comes full circle.

I've been married to the same gal for 40 years and have 3 children and 3 grandchildren ages 6, 9 & 14. I live in a small town near Plymouth, Massachusetts (about 45 minutes south of Boston), and yes I drop my "R"s. I live in a very rural setting surrounded by horse farms and cranberry bogs.

My first major amplifier project has been to build a"Super Reverb" amp designed around Doug's AB763 board. Everything worked perfectly on the first fire-up except for an annoying 120 cycle buzz when the reverb control advances beyond 4 or 5. I will start another topic on this dilema so I can call on the expertise of all the enthusiasts among you to see if you've run into this problem in the past. I look forward to interacting with you all!
