Very cool!  Another one we lost too young..

Eddie was born and grew up around here....though he was living in California by the time he made records. In June there is a 50's themed festival honoring him with Rockabilly music and classic cars and hot rods.

He's buried down the street from me in Cypress. So was Karen Carpenter, but Richard moved her to be with her parents.

Eddie's my fave from the era. Him and Gene Vincent. Ironically, they were in the same car when Eddie died. Gene was hurt in that crash and went off the deep end with alcohol after that.

He wrote some great stuff. I put him in the same category as Hank Sr., Hendrix, Joplin - taken before their star was shining full-power, but so prolific in such a short time.
