Ive been trolling and reading this forum for a while you guys have answered many of my questions without even asking.  grin Im a father of 3 lovely daughters who lives north of seattle in Washington state . Im hopelessly addicted to amp building. On my work bench is a freshly completed marshall 1987 lead waiting for tubes and a music man amp quickly being converted to a ab763 circuit . With a jtm 45 and tweed bandmaster sitting behind it in differant stages of completion, luckily its a big work bench. Like I said hopelessly addicted, but loving every minit of it. Thanks Bill

Geezer I am very interested in your latest input on the hoso56 design i think you switched the name  to opus I would love to build a two channel version with a quad of 6qa5, i think it is a 5979 with another triode tube in series to get to the sweet spot . For some reason this really peaks my curiousity  grin Bill

Tubes or nothing its only my 4th build the 1987 marshall circuit anyway , My leade dress leaves something to be desired but no matter how much reading I do about it, no one gives anything but wishy washy answers about what I can put next to each other and what to definatly keep away from other than heaters and and mains of the pt. My first amp I did one of those what I thought would be a perfect lead dress with everything pulled together with plastic tyes howled like a banshee untill I cut all the tyes and moved everything away from each other then was quiet as a church mouse, I guess we shouldnt build a bit of a high gain circuit into your first build. rolleyes but Im learning quickly, Im lucky to have these great forums to look at and read from you guys are great. grin

Was up in the Seattle area in the late 80's thanks to Uncle Sam's canoe club... loved the weather (rain & all) and even befriended a realtor to hook me up with a MLS book for the Seattle Aurora area (I was sick with envy)  One of the few places I would really want to move to. As far as lead dress goes, any time I want to feel inadequate and jealous at the same time- I just look a a few pix of the old HIWATT guts.
