Hey guys. long time buyer from Hoffmanamps for my amp supplies. ive been reading alot of the forum for the past 2-3 weeks and decided to become a member. There is alot of awsome knowledgable people here and amazing attitudes to go right along with it =]
im 21, 3 classes shy of a 2 year degree in computer engineering, and ive been playing music for about 10 years. no kids, not married lol. music is my life other than school.
the last 3-4 years i have spent modding my 5150II; using it as a test bed for ideas, and learning how tone is affected by what you do to an amp (or shouldnt do for that matter lol)
it all started with a full time college student wanting the tone of $3k-$6k amplifiers and a budget for a blown practice amp.
i now have almost completed my tone quest, and Hoffman amps has been a very large part of it =]
hopefully will be able to learn from alot of guys on here and help me to clear up alot of things i have learned.
take care of yourselves.

Hey matt,
Hope that degree helps you. Despite claims of jobs in IT, your area has a big influence, along with who you know and can impress, as to how many actually exist to you. But, as a computer engineer, you may have better doors than just a plain BS in IT.
Welcome aboard, and ask away in the appropriate areas.

yeah thanks for the quick reply shrapnel! hopefully i'll be able to help around on here haha.
and yes, i had to be certified in C++, assembly language for intel 32 bit processors and motorola, networking CCNA capable (dont actually have to take the certification but capable of knowing it), and also A+ certification capable.
i havent done any of the certifications because i would rather move into the amplifier type business like what line 6 and bogner are doing. eventually i will try to get certified i guess lol, but i think im going to try and go on to a 4 year degree in computer science. im not sure if i want to do that yet... im sure you get my drift when i say its easier said than done.
but yeah the reason i never went into IT was because im partially colourblind lol, it takes me a sec to be able to cable up CAT6 lines ;p
thanks for the warm welcome! =]
