Chorus build

Anyone ever build a chorus pedal say a T.C. Electronics Stereo Chorus?

I was eyeing this one (mono) for a while but bit the bullet and bought the Digitech Hardwire line chorus offering a month or so ago.

Hard to beat the Digitech version (also mono) at ~$125.

I've had reliability issued with Digitech pedals in the past. I really like the TC and the Carl Martin chorus pedals which are transparent. Most chorus pedals I've tried seem too intrusive and suck tone. Hard to find a good one.

Well....I guess that I jumped right in with both feet!
This is my first chorus pedal and my first Digitech product.

I will say that it is giving up an extremely transparent but lush chorusing sound with lots of different tweaks available.  All of the other tonal componants of my "sound" are minimally affected if at all.

My only complaint is that it sounds just a tad ragged and trebley when I hit it with a very overdriven signal.  That may be normal for all I know and I may be able to dial it out with a bit more tweaking.  Still...as a first time chorus user, it is doing an excellent job IMHO.

I seem to recall reading somewhere (Guitar Player maybe?) that Digitech hired a new product manager/engineer to develop their Hardwire line and mucho kudos were coming down.  That is what pushed me to give it a shot (not to mention the reasonable price point).

Time will tell on the reliability issues front.  There wasn't much to go on at Harmony Central around the time that I bought it.

I poked around in the various effects forums that I frequent but couldn't find any DIY TC or CM chorus experiences to share with you.
