I have a Boss SD-1 Overdrive (see schem below).....what components would I change to get rid of the huge midrange "hump"/boost that it gives (& I hate)?
TIA

I found these videos on youtube that helped me understand a bit on what I'm looking to achieve>>>
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FETtHV-2Ndw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4ue58PPTV4&feature=related
Here's a link to the Simple R-C Filter Cutoff calculator referred to in the videos>>>
http://www.muzique.com/schem/filter.htm
I'm going to try some changes in the R-C filters later today & will post results.....any other suggestions/experiences still appreciated. Geez'r

If you put the bass, and the mid, and the highs, all through the same shredder, they intermodulate each other and more complex sounds come out like crap.
Pulling a couple-octaves out of the middle and shredding that is much less likely to make ugly noises (other than the ugly noise it is supposed to make).
To prove it to yourself (or prove that you can dance around the issue), do the green mods below.
