How many tube amps do you need? One more!

I went to the Dentist from work and while I was out stopped by a few flea markets, pawn shops and picked up the synth. Since it was marked $10.95 and didn't look abused I bought it without any questions.

I didn't know nothing about the power supply and figured I could pop the bottom cover off and slap a 9V battery in there to test it out----no way-no battery and also learned it takes 24VDC/100mA center positive. I did scratch up a 24VDC/500mA but with 1/8" male plug. Also the pin on the female power supply socket for the synth it larger than the normal 9V Power supplys. On some more net research I read the EH synth takes a 5.5 mm X 2.5mm. Uses 2 outputs and sums their voltage.

Two things I'm wondering is will my 500mA power supply be too much, or will that make a difference. I'm hoping if it dont? I may can get the plug a Radio Shack and solder it on to my 24VDC supply. So if I get a plug for my 24V power supply will the extra 400mA be a problem??? I don't think so but not for sure?
Thanks, Platefire

A strong spark ought to bear calamities...

Not a problem at all.  Get the voltage and the polarity correct and the current will take care of itself.  (good to have that extra current for the extra tough licks   ;)

Well it works fine. Guess my favorite is the sub octive and octive controls in the voicing section. Always liked the octiva and you can duplicate that sound pretty much. The square wave is pretty much the distortion control. You can get a lot of synth sounds not accociated with the guitar too. As a guy not big on effects liking mostly great guitar tone, not sure at this point that I would want to keep this pedal? Platefire

Edit: Playing around with this pedal it's starting to grow on me. Now if I can just get it seperated from my foot! ;D Really it's very versitile and I'm thinking it would be great for recording. I've been trying all kind of combinations on the sliders controls and recording the settings on a chart. This is something you could really get creative with. With my new Jamman, Alesis SR-16 Drum Machine in shipment and this new pedal something bound to break loose soon.

Edit again: this pedal is just too versitile. It takes more adjusting than your normal pedal but once you learn whats going on it can wear a lot of hats. This is a keeper!

Just in case someone else happens to have one of these pedals---here are some of my own slider settings for different sounds I have discovered on this pedal.
