That's a weird looking guitar - in a cool way! 8)
The body shape, and especially the f-holes, are pretty unique.
Wish I had an answer or two for you...
Instead I have a question - what does the knob on the lower/treble bout do?
You really ought to write "Vintage Guitar" about that National. Even if they don't publish the answer, they might at least point you in the right direction.
Cheers,
Chip

We have proven once again no plan survives contact with the enemy, or in this case, with the amp.

The knob by the cut away is a master vol. Then it has 2 vol and 2 tone controls with the lead pickup a bass roll off on the tone control.

I still have a National flat top, #1155 , that I bought new in 1950. Still a nice guitar. A buddy bought an archtop the same year, National #1100 "Aristocrat". It has one neck pickup, and blonde finish.
Oh yeah , still have the National amp that I bought with it.
Yours is an unusual guitar, and I think very rare. First I have seen.

I have probably spent 20 hours searching the net on this guitar and found absolutely nothing. Ive owned it since 1984.
