Someone sent me a layout for a power supply a long time ago using a tran with 24v secondary. Would this circuit still work the same with only a 12v secondary or would something in the circuit need to be changed?

O.K I built this unit using a 6.3-0-6.3 trans (taped off the CT). Measured 14.95v on the secondaries of the tran. The end result is 8.8vdc. Is this enough for most pedals or should I aim for 9 - 9.5v by playing with resistor values? I'm not very experienced with pedals and their voltage requirements. Does voltage affect tone at all with pedals?  :-?
Thanks again

8.8 sounds good to me.

Some say so, moreso with older analog pedals. Back in the '70s I used to think my old Crybaby sounded sweeter after midnight when my battery had drained a bit. Coulda been the Miller effect though!
