Thanks in advance to all of you who will be (and have already through older posts) answering questions etc... as I start on my first amp build. I have a background in construction and am a woodworker by hobby so the cabinet parts will be the easy part for me. I have been interested in building an amp for a couple years and just recently started taking steps to make it a reality. Step one - educate myself online and through books on basic electronics and amplification. Step 2 practice building simple PCB circuits and test circuits to work on my soldering and basic technique. Lastly I started thinking about the build itself and have decided on a Marshall style 18 watt w/ tremolo. I have found through research online a schematic, layout and parts listing that all match, and have ordered all the components to go ahead and build the circuit board. Mine will be a separate head & speaker cabinet. So far it seems there is lots of online documentation on this type build but knowing that this is my first build I am sure I will hit many a roadblock between here and the finish line... My plan is to go slow, take my time and enjoy the learning process. Dave
