In case you can't tell, I've going down memory lane lately.....

Here's a couple that still give me that melancholy teenage feeling.....memories

There's just something about Greg Lake's voice that does that to me.  sad2

From The Beginning>
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - From The Beginning (Lyrics)

and, Still..... You Turn Me On>
Still You Turn Me On - Emerson Lake and Palmer

Wow, two awesome classics that I had forgot about completely till now

What a blast from the past that was
It's weird how memories get dregged up when hearing a song from the past

I keep waiting for that chick on the cover to open here eyes.
That would make a good scary film image

Fantastic music there!  Lots of memories go those tunes.  I especially like From the Beginning.  I think the tone of the lead guitar is beautiful.

Thanks, Tubenit

I think Greg Lake has some incredible pipes.  I've always been a big live fan as you can really tell how good they are...

Three from California Jam - awesome...

Greg Lake - Still You Turn Me On

Greg Lake - Lucky Man

Emerson, Lake & Palmer - The Great Gates of Kiev

Well the back drop of cord voicings and the melody are pretty melancholy too.

But yeah, that boy could sing. I got a few of their albums stored away.

Looks like he's in drop D on Lucky Man? I can't tell if he's got both E strings dropped (double drop D, Neil Young used it alot) or just the low E?

I saw them at Soldiers Field in Chgo. in the mid 70's, must have been at least 60K+ people. Can't remember much, that was a while ago or it could have been all that smoke in the air?

Emerson had the flying grand piano thing going on that night.

What flying piano?  There was no flying piano.  How much smoke did you say there was?!?!

Even strapped in, that would be a heck of a ride!  In the last vid I posted you can also see the big Moog in all its glory - and bazzillions of patch chords!  I wonder what that would get on fleabay today....

laugh       No Jim I'm telling you he was strapped in to his piano bench along with his grand piano and then it was lifted up in to the air and while he played, the 2 of them, he and his grand, spun around at a slow speed, up above the stage. I thought this was a common thing ELP did on tour after a certain point, after they had enough $$ to make it happen $$ wise.

That much I do remember.       laugh

OH, and there was plenty of smoke, maybe I might have even contributed to it my self, back then laugh? But thankfully, that was a long time ago!
