« on: September 29, 2010, 12:00:46 am »
I'm looking for schematics for the amps that produce so called Suhr-sound.
What is characteristic for that type of amps?

Check boobtube they got some good vids of those amps in action.
Think they use the London power scaling control to control output and wattage.

Yes, but that is only on the Badger amps. The other amps have a traditional power amp stage.

There's no Suhr sound. The Badger line is from the Marshall 18-wattt school; the CAE use differently voiced channels, from Fender BF cleans to Marshall plexi-style crunch. Some models include Soldano-like big bad overdrive.

I've never heard of that sound before, how do you pronounce that? Is that like a southern drawl Sir as in  - "Good day to you Suhr"?

I don't know the origin for that. Maybe it is based on the sound of Suhr amps/guitars.

A great geetar player can make a cheap amp sound like a million bux.
A crap geetar player can make a $3000 amp sound like crap.

That amp sounds good but most of the mojo is in the guys fingers if I played that set up it would not sound as good.

Indeed that is a very good player. I agree that too good players can be as misleading as bad players in demos.
