I'm not crazy.
But I do have sitting righr near me A big Revera with 4 el34's. an Ames 100W pa with 2 6550's My AC 30ish build, A 5F2A head and cab I built, A SS stand alone reverb I cobbled out of a Kimbal organ, and 4 different Leslie units.
Almost 2000 tubes,90% TV tubes, but I still hold them dear. 45lbs of new transformers, 80# of old pulls
My TOS build stopped mid stream and waiting on a filter cap from Weber, OH! so while I was waiting this week... I started another 5F2a build in a head cab, Had all the parts here I found in my junk while looking for that D@MNED 5879, which I found in the coffee can of orange drops on the microwave.
notice anything missing? like a guitar? Yeah! I can't even play! unless you count the 3 or 4 tries it takes me to strum an C chord.
When I call my stepson to bring his guitar over so I can try out my builds he tunes it to an open G and leaves.
AH SHEESH! I forgot about that new Epiphone Galaxy I just got and the wierd ones like that stromborg carlson and the filmosound
Not crazy in the slightest Ray
****EDIT***
well I might be a LITTLE crazy, I do have a closet with a 50W crate an old Kustom 300W pa and a 100W Grommes Precision PA I mean why would anyone in their right mind keep SS amps?

When it comes to all of my amps my wife calls me many many things - including totally crazy, insane, a wack job, wing nut, all of my screws are loose... when it comes time for testing, tweaking, and re-testing - it gets much worse. It's when I get rolling during a build, look up at the clock at 2am and I have to get up in three hours, that I know she's right. Is there an ampaholics anonymous rehab center somewhere?

I believe guys, that our wiwes should learn how to solder, then they would love to build amps with us !

I have stopped being surprised at the guitar player who spends $3,000 on the latest boutique amplifier, and plugs in his Mexican Stratocaster strung with light gauge strings through a Big Muff Pi fuzz pedal. Mehr Licht !

Insanity is just a state of mind... by the way have you seen mine?
In some way we all must be nuts playing with high voltage and valves instead of high current and solid state. But there's something about those little glowing bottles

Who is insane?? What is normal as compared to the insane??? No my friends, I believe that it is we who are normal.... Who wouldn't get excited about stumbling upon a fresh set of NOS Mullards, or Bugle Boys or that Tweed deluxe at an estate sale but an insane person???Or the excitment of firing up that new build for the first time??? Then figuring out where we went wrong and seeking help among the other normal people here.... Any fool with the money can run down to the store and be up and running in no time....Ah, but it is we, the enlightened, who savour the weeks, months or years in quest of the holy grail....No my friends, it is not I who am insane.......
But then again...........

If you talk to yourself are you insane? No! If you ask yourself questions are you crazy? No! If you ask yourself questions and then answer them are you nuts? No If you ask yourself a question and then you ask could you repeat the question, well you probably have issues and so do you......Using this criteria I'm hanging in there and haven't quite crossed the line

The real nut case is the guy who thinks he can make a living selling amp parts on the internet Should have stayed in school and been a Proctologist You don't have to get all A's
